William Isaac Thomas Jr., a Los Angeles-area photographer who reportedly portrayed himself as a modeling industry expert, has been charged with sexually assaulting three aspiring models over several years.
William Isaac Thomas allegedly sexually abused men who were pursuing modeling careers, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. In March of 2023, police said an 18-year-old man reported being sexually battered by Thomas at his Hollywood residence. According to a report from Deadline, police conducted further investigations which led to evidence being uncovered which suggested that Thomas had sexually assaulted additional young men between the ages of 17 and 21.
“He preyed upon young men by promising them jobs and monetary opportunities he never delivered,” LAPD Detective Brent Hopkins said in an official statement. “Once he made them reliant upon him, the abuse began. Now that he is no longer able to harm these victims, hopefully more will be able to tell their story.”
Prosecutors allege that the timeline of the sexual assaults committed by William Isaac Thomas Jr. includes:
ABC 7 Los Angeles reported that each victim was being represented by William Isaac Thomas Jr. as they pursued their modeling careers.
The charges filed against William Isaac Thomas Jr. include:
Thomas was arrested out of state and extradited back to Los Angeles, LAPD officials confirmed. He was booked on June 25.
“The courage these young survivors have shown in coming forward after enduring this unimaginable trauma and suffering cannot be overstated, and we stand with them in their pursuit of justice and healing,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon said in a statement. “The alleged actions of Mr. William Thomas Jr. are reprehensible.”
“Exploiting a position of authority to prey on vulnerable teenagers is an egregious abuse of power that our society cannot and will not tolerate,” Gascon added.
Los Angeles Police Department detectives have identified six men alleged to have been sexually abused by Thomas. LAPD officials believe there may be additional victims, and their investigation is ongoing.
The charges filed against William Isaac Thomas Jr. include similarities to a Dordulian Law Group case involving a victim who came forward with sexual assault allegations against Hollywood producer Laurence Andries.
In March, Andries – a Hollywood producer who worked on a number of hit television shows such as Alias, Six Feet Under, How to Get Away With Murder, and Blue Bloods – was charged with six felony counts, including:
Andries is accused of drugging and raping the victim – a military veteran – while unconscious.
Dordulian Law Group’s founder and president, Los Angeles sexual assault lawyer Sam Dordulian, is representing the victim pro bono under Marcy’s Law. Dordulian spoke with Fox 11 Los Angeles in March regarding the case.
Similar to the allegations against William Isaac Thomas Jr. – where the victims were aspiring models – Laurence Andries’ victim was an aspiring writer (and Andries was his mentor) when the crimes are alleged to have occurred.
Andries’ victim, identified only as John Doe, came forward quickly to report the sexual abuse.
“[He] did all the right things,” sexual assault attorney Sam Dordulian told Fox 11 about his client. “He acted very quickly. He got to a hospital. They were able to do a rape exam. And there was a lot of evidence.”
