Trey Songz Accused of Rape by UNLV Basketball’s Dylan Gonzalez

Jan 13, 2022

Former University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) basketball player Dylan Gonzalez accused singer and actor Trey Songz of rape in a recent social media post.

With what seems like endlessly reoccurring news of the alleged sexual assaults committed by Trey Songz, I am forced to repeatedly relive in my mind, and suffer anew, the long-suppressed horror and unbearable PTSD of my rape by his very hands at a well known Las Vegas hotel,” a statement posted to Gonzalez’s Twitter account read earlier this week.

I want to send my love, strength, and hope to all who are victims of sexual assault and its fatal nature. You are not alone,” Gonzalez added.

Gonzalez’s statement comes after a December 31 tweet that read:

“Trey Songz is a rapist. Lord forgive me, I couldn’t hold that in another year. See you in 2022.”

PEOPLE Magazine reported that Gonzalez will be pursuing a civil claim against Songz (legal name Tremaine Neverson) in the coming weeks, and that a formal litigation filing is in progress.

Another alleged survivor of sexual assault by Trey Songz – Jahaura Jefferies – claims the singer assaulted her at a Miami nightclub in 2018.

Songz has reportedly not responded to the allegations made by Jefferies. Regarding the allegation of rape by Gonzalez, a representative for Songz issued a statement through TMZ declaring, “Trey and his team are confident in the legal process and that there will be an abundance of exonerating information to come over the next few weeks.

In November 2021, PEOPLE confirmed that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police had received “a report of a sexual assault incident alleged to have occurred at a hotel in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard” involving Songz.

The survivor who made that complaint against Songz was not identified, according to PEOPLE. However, that allegation has been confirmed to be separate from those made by Gonzalez or Jefferies.

Neverson [Songz] is cooperating with the investigation. At this time, no arrests have been made,” a Las Vegas Police representative confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE last year.

Songz has been accused of sexual assault by additional women in recent years:

In 2017, Keke Palmer alleged that Songz used “sexual intimidation” to make her appear in a music video of his, claiming that he “secretly filmed” her and “put her in a music video against my wishes,” according to PEOPLE.

In August 2020, a woman who publicly identified herself as Aliza accused the singer of allegedly urinating on her without her consent during an otherwise consensual sexual encounter. Songz denied the allegations in a tweet, calling the accusations “convenient” for someone who seeks to “destroy someone’s life,” according to PEOPLE.
