A Santa Clarita, California, massage therapist with a history of sex crime allegations was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman.
Jorge Panama, 56, was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with an allegation made in April, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau report.
According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Special Victims Bureau, Panama was the subject of a previous sexual assault investigation in October 2018 which involved similar circumstances.
That 2018 incident reportedly entailed an adult female victim being sexually assaulted while receiving a massage at Stretch Therapeutic Healing Spa (now named Massage Plus Healing) in Santa Clarita.
Panama was arrested in 2018 following the incident, and an investigation was presented to the District Attorney’s Office. Charges were never filed, however, reportedly due to insufficient evidence.
In the April 2021 incident, Panama is alleged to have sexually assaulted an adult woman while performing a massage at Massage Plus Healing. The alleged victim, who spoke with KTLA and was identified only as Susan, accused Panama of rape.
“He didn’t hit me, but it was so fast,” Susan said in an interview with KTLA. “I don’t know how long his pants were down for, because I was face-down.”
Investigators believe Panama likely assaulted additional victims while working at Stretch Therapeutic Healing and Massage Plus Healing. The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau is urging anyone with information related to a possible sex crime during a massage session with Panama to come forward as soon as possible and report the matter.
