The former director of a local dance group was arrested last week by the Riverside Police Department’s Sexual Assault – Child Abuse Unit on multiple felony counts of sexual assault.
31-year-old Miguel Bolanos of Chino Hills, California, was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on August 17. The charges against Bolanos, all of which are felonies, include:
Riverside County inmate records indicate Bolanos was released the following day on $55,000 bail.
Authorities confirmed an investigation began earlier this year after a woman reported Bolanos had sexually assaulted her in 2017. Police said an additional woman came forward shortly thereafter with allegations of sexual assault by Bolanos under similar circumstances.
According to investigators, at the time of the alleged assaults, Bolanos was affiliated as a dance group director with the University of California, Riverside’s “909 Dance Troupe,” as well as troupes known as “Snowtorious,” “Hall of Fame,” “Academy of Swag,” and “GRV.”
Detectives investigating the sexual assault claims against Bolanos have indicated they believe there may be additional survivors who have yet to come forward and report a crime. Bolanos has reportedly been affiliated as a director with numerous dance groups since at least 2013.
