Four months after being charged with multiple counts of rape and kidnapping, producer David Guillod was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in Sherman Oaks Wednesday. The Los Angeles Police Department issued a news release confirming that on October 21, 2020, a woman whose identity is protected by confidentiality reported being sexually assaulted by Guillod during an evening meeting. The Los Angeles Times reported that a search of Guillod’s home took place, after which time detectives took him into custody without incident. Guillod was booked at the Los Angeles Police Metropolitan Detention Center Wednesday evening, and currently remains held on $5 million bail, according to the L.A. Times report.
Guillod has been charged with a total of 15 sex crimes (11 of which are felony counts) in Santa Barbara County Superior Court. The accusations pertain to alleged assaults which took place between 2012 and 2018. Court records indicate that earlier this month Guillod was charged with three counts of rape and sodomy related to an alleged October 2018 attack. The L.A. Times also reported that Guillod is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting an employee during a wine country retreat in December 2014, and committing similar attacks in early 2015.
The felony counts stem from allegations made by three survivors who have been identified as Jane Does by the office of Santa Barbara District Attorney, Joyce Dudley.
Guillod, a producer known for films such as “Extraction,” “Atomic Blonde,” and “The Intruder.” He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and faces a sentence of up to 21-years in prison if found guilty.
Guillod previously ran the talent agency, Primary Wave Entertainment, until 2017, following actress Jessica Barth’s accusations that he drugged and sexually assaulted her five years earlier.

Barth is the first survivor to have reported Guillod’s alleged sexual assault to the LAPD. Santa Barbara County prosecutors are pursuing her case as well as the cases of the three aforementioned Jane Does. While the alleged attacks took place in Santa Barbara and L.A. County, prosecutors in Santa Barbara are trying the prior cases against Guillod because the charges were consolidated around the 2014 assault case in their jurisdiction.
During the announcement of the producer’s arrest, detectives stated that they believe additional victims of Guillod’s abuse exist. Law enforcement officials are interested in speaking with any other Guillod victims who have yet to come forward.

Earlier this year, we reported on three rape charges filed against adult film actor, Ron Jeremy, as well as three rape charges against actor Danny Masterson. At DLG, survivors who have been sexually assaulted by powerful men contact us every day.
We’ve also been working on civil cases against Mexico-based La Luz del Mundo megachurch leader, Naason Joaquin Garcia, who is charged with dozens of sex crime felony counts, including forcible rape of a minor, forcible oral copulation of a person under 18, unlawful sexual intercourse, committing a lewd act on a child, conspiracy, and possession of child pornography.
Moreover, we have succeeded in handling countless institutional cases, such as the Catholic Church scandal and, currently, the Boy Scouts of America sex abuse scandal.
For a limited time, survivors of Boy Scout sexual abuse are able to file claims seeking financial compensation until November 16, 2020. After the November 16 deadline, however, survivors will no longer have legal recourse against the BSA, as the organization will have concluded its bankruptcy proceedings.

Consider a recent settlement we won for a rape victim against difficult odds:
Dordulian Law Group recently handled a complicated rape case that presented many challenges. The survivor had met the plaintiff/predator online via a ‘sugar daddy’ website. A relationship eventually formed, and the two partners had consensual sex on multiple occasions. However, on one occasion the plaintiff slipped the survivor a drug, rendering her unconscious. While unconscious, the man raped her without consent.
When the survivor came to us, she was unsure of her legal rights:
These are all common questions that rape survivors ask the experienced attorneys at DLG each day. However, regardless of any other circumstances, the answer to each of those questions is that sex always requires consent.
The fact that this sexual act occurred when the plaintiff was drugged and unconscious meant that it qualified as rape, and was therefore a crime (and financial damages needed to be paid to the plaintiff). Any additional facts or complicated aspects concerning the relationship were moot, given that the sexual act occurred without consent and while under the influence of drugs.
Despite the complicated nature of the case, we were able to prevail in just three short months, securing our survivor client a multi-million dollar settlement.
