A local truck driver stopped to rest at a truck station in Calexico when a fellow trucker approached him for some help on his truck. As they were looking at the truck a local city bus turned the corner at the intersection too fast and clipped the back of the stopped truck causing its wheel to roll over the foot of Mr. Martinez causing nerve damage to his foot. Defendants were offering under $50,000 collectively to settle until the eve of trial. Settlement ultimately obtained in the amount of $315,000

Worker’s Compensation/personal injury hybrid case wherein a city worker for Department of Health Services tripped and fell in the parking garage of her building on an uplifted corner of the elevator skirt, landing on her hands and knees. Mrs. Petrosyan sustained soft tissue injuries to her to her wrists and back. Defendants were denying liability for most of the pendency of litigation. Settlement obtained at mediation in the amount of $320,000.

A 17 year old young man (Justin M) went to Big Air Trampoline Park in Orange County with his brothers and sisters on a rainy Sunday afternoon. While playing a game of trampoline dodgeball his leg slipped under the padding of the court and his knee was impaled by an exposed bolt thereby fracturing his patella. Case proceeded to trial against both the trampoline park and the manufacturer of the trampoline system. Through litigation manufacturer defendant had offered only $5,000 to settle and park defendant had offered a dismissal for a waiver of costs. We were able to exclude the park’s full waiver the plaintiff had signed that both defendants were relying upon and obtained a favorable verdict against both in the amount of $1,105,500.
