A Contra Costa County man who worked at various Bay Area establishments as a bartender and bouncer has been charged with raping seven women, according to police.
Brandon Delliquadri, 35, of Walnut Creek, California, was arrested July 7 on suspicion of multiple rapes and sexual assaults which Contra Costa County court records show date back to at least 2018, a report from SFGate confirmed.
“He’s accused of forcible rape, rape of an unconscious person, forcible sodomy,” Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney Greg Chiarilla said.
Court documents confirm that Delliquadri faces up to 10 felony counts, including:
NBC Bay Area reported that prosecutors believe Delliquadri has raped at least seven women, “allegedly preying on intoxicated individuals and at least one victim who was fully unconscious.”
“Certainly, this was someone who took advantage of people often in vulnerable situations and appeared to be looking for people in vulnerable situations and targeting them in that situation. Definitely a danger to the community,” DDA Chiarilla said.
An alleged survivor of bartender Brandon Delliquadri spoke to NBC Bay Area by phone and described her attack.
“He used alcohol and physical intimidation and psychological manipulation to put me in a position where I was not coherent enough to make the decision to leave and took advantage of that,” she said.
NBC reported that the woman’s “persistence” helped law enforcement “connect the dots,” and that other women reported sexual assaults by Delliquadri dating back to 2018.
“Putting yourself in a bar situation doesn’t mean you deserve this. And I hope they know they’re not alone,” the woman told NBC.
Delliquadri’s alleged victim reportedly attended his recent court hearing.
“It was empowering when he turned around fully shackled in his prison getup or jail outfit. To stare right back. I’m not going away,” she told NBC Bay Area.
The woman who spoke to NBC indicated she’s “certain” Delliquadri has more victims.
“If you go out everyday that’s almost a daily opportunity to find someone too intoxicated to take advantage of or rape,” she said to NBC.
Walnut Creek police have also indicated that they believe Delliquadri may have assaulted more women who have yet to be identified and are asking for the public’s assistance.
“Due to the nature of the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the case, we believe there may be other individuals who may have been sexually assaulted by the same suspect,” Walnut Creek police wrote in a press release.
