A campus security officer was arrested after officials discovered that the man was having an inappropriate relationship with a student at Slover Mountain Continuation High School in Bloomington, California, according to a press release issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBSD).
Jonathan Ray Calderilla, 35, of Colton, California, was arrested Friday and faces a charge under state Penal Code 288.3(a) – Contacting a Minor with the Intent to Commit a Sex Crime.
Calderilla was booked into the Central Detention Center and is currently being held with a bail amount of $250,000.
According to the SBSD statement, the sheriff’s department’s Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail worked together with the Fontana Sheriff’s Station in conducting an investigation in August regarding an inappropriate relationship between Calderilla and a student. Calderilla is employed with the Colton Unified School District, but has been on administrative leave since August of 2022.
“During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered Calderilla sent inappropriate text messages to the minor,” the SBSD said.
Investigators indicated in the press release that they believe there may be additional victims. Authorities released Calderilla’s booking photograph at the time of the statement’s online posting.
Anyone with information regarding the above mentioned incident, who may have been victimized by Calderilla, or who may have information about someone harmed by the school security guard is urged to contact San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department investigators immediately.
Detective Wendy Winegar of the Specialized Investigations Division – Crimes Against Children Detail may be reached at 909-890-4904.

The arrest of Jonathan Ray Calderilla is unfortunately one of many recent cases involving inappropriate relationships between school employees and underage students that have been discovered by law enforcement officials.
In July, a 22-year-old Fresno school teacher’s assistant was arrested for a misdemeanor act after sending sexual messages to a 12-year-old.
Authorities were contacted by an unidentified individual who reported that Juarez was having inappropriate conversations with the pre-teen student. Detectives reportedly discovered that the teacher’s assistant had sent messages of a sexual nature to the girl through a social media app.
